5th Wheel Adapter for Gooseneck Hitch in 1999 Ford F-250 Short Bed

Question:

I am looking to purchase a bulldog or draw tight hide a gooseneck to fifth wheel hitch or setup. I have a atwood flip gooseneck in a 99 f-250 shortbed. Will this work with what I have? My camper already has an extended pinion and I pulled it with an 08 f250 short bed with a true fifth wheel and it was fine. We has plenty of room. Please let me know what options that I have. I appreciate your time. Thanks.

It sounds like you are looking for a hitch adapter to allow your gooseneck hitch to tow a 5th wheel trailer. On the linked page you can see the options we offer and the included article will give you good background on all choices.

These options include adapters that attach to a gooseneck ball and the superior method of towing a fifth wheel with a gooseneck hitch, the Reese Goosebox replacement pin box. These three products are shown on the linked page.

A Goosebox is a replacement pin box that bolts up in place of your existing pin box so long as you have one of the compatible models. We offer three versions. As an example, part # RP85FR fits in place of 0719, 1621 and 1621HD pin boxes. A Goosebox is the ONLY type of hitch adapter for 5th wheel trailers that does not add extra stress to the trailer frame. All other types of adapters do add more stress and could affect the coach's frame warranty.

If you need a wiring harness for the truck bed you can use part # 20030.
