Fifth Wheel Rail Kit Recommendation for a 2016 Ford F-250 Short Bed

Question:

I have a Valley 7054 CP 07540 16K slider hitch which came off my 2006 Ram 1500 along with the above bed rails. What would I need to install this on my new 2016 F250? Should I consider a complete upgrade or stick with this one? What would I need to install this slider on the F250 if I kept it? I realize improvements have occurred over the years, am I fooling myself by keeping this older unit? Thanks in advance for your advice.

Your Valley 7054 fifth wheel hitch will fit rails that we offer for your 2016 Ford F-250 as it is designed to fit industry standard rails like what you have.

For a custom rail kit confirmed as a fit for your truck you would want the Reese part # RP56016-53 which would minimize drilling and install time.

If you like your hitch and it's not worn out then keep it and use it till you want something better.

If you want something that will be much nicer I would recommend the Demco Hijacker AutoSlide part # DM8550034. Since you have a short bed truck and need a slider hitch this would be the best choice as it will slide automatically as you make tight turns instead of forcing you to get out of the truck and manually operate the slider. Check out the review video I attached for more info.
