What Is Weight Capacity for Draw-Tite Front Mount Hitch For 2004 Ford F-350
Question:
Draw tight front hitch for 2004 f350 specs say 500lb verticle load. Does that mean it will hold 500 lbs of weight. Im planning to haul a motorcycle on the front while pulling a 5th wheel on the back. The motorcycle carrier will extend a foot or too out in front of the hitch. That will no doubt cause a twisting force on the hitch. Put all that together, how much weight can I put on that hitch?

Expert Reply:
The cargo capacity of the Draw-Tite Front Mount Hitch, part # 65022 is 500-lbs. In the installation instructions it states that the capacity is 500-lbs of cargo OR the vehicle front axle gross rating.
I recommend you check your owner's manual or with your dealership to make sure you do not exceed the cargo carrying capacity of your truck. Keep in mind also that carrying a motorcycle on the front of your truck will reduce the air flow to your radiator and the motorcycle may block your headlights. You will want to check with authorities to make sure it is legal to haul a motorcycle on the front hitch.
