Does Slide-In Bedliner have to be Trimmed to Install and Use a B&W Companion Hitch

Question:

It looks like the truck Im interested in used to have an underbed BandW turnover ball in it that has been removed, and now it has a plastic liner in the bed. Im thinking about buying a turnover ball and companion hitch to put in. I know the liner would need to be cut out in the very middle at the very least where the companion mounts, but would I need to remove a bigger section of the liner or remove it all together so the rest of the base is in contact with the truck bed directly?

I checked with B&W and with the Companion hitch # BWRVK3500-5W you would either need to remove the bedliner or trim it in the footprint of the entire base so it will have direct contact with the bed. The reason for this is because a slide-in bedliner can move around some and you do not want that happening when towing a 5th wheel trailer! I linked a video review of the Companion for you.

The B&W Turnover Ball for the 2012 Ford Super Duty trucks is # BWGNRK1111.
