Bike Rack Recommendation for 2015 Ford Edge
Question:
We have a 2015 Ford Edge with no hitch. The Edge was redesigned in 2015 and we have the new design. What bike rack can you recommend?

To carry bikes on your 2015 Ford Edge, I recommend using a trailer hitch and hitch mount bike rack.
The trailer hitch I recommend for your 2015 Ford Edge is the Draw-Tite Class III Max Frame Receiver Hitch # 75234. This trailer hitch is confirmed to fit SE, SEL, Titanium, and Sport models of the 2015 Edge. The 2 inch hitch receiver will accept a wide variety of hitch mount accessories on your Edge. The hands-free liftgate will still function with this hitch installed, but will be limited to areas away from the center of the hitch at the receiver. I've attached the installation instructions for this hitch for you.
The hitch mount bike rack I recommend for you is the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 2-Bike Platform Rack # HR1450Z. This platform bike rack will hold your bikes by each wheel and the upper frame bar for the most secure attachment. The Sport Rider SE2 has many great features, like ability to tilt the bike rack away for the car with the bikes loaded to gain access to the rear cargo area. A hitch lock and locking ratchet arms are also included for added security.
I noticed you had been looking at trunk mount bike racks, but they are not the best option for your vehicle. I do not recommend a trunk mount rack for you because of the rear spoiler at the top of the rear hatch on the Edge. These spoilers are not designed to carry weight, like the weight of the upper straps of a trunk mount bike rack. Because of this spoiler on the rear hatch, I recommend installing a trailer hitch and using a hitch mounted bike rack.
