Recommended 5th Wheel Adapter for Standard 5th Wheel Hitch in 2016 Ford F-450 Super Duty

Question:

I am about to purchase a 2016 F450. Truck has the Ford 5th wheel hitch prep package with the factory puck system. Is there something available that will allow me to use the Reese rails with my current 5th wheel hitch. Your help would be appreciated.

Your 2016 Ford F-450 Super-Duty has the under-bed puck system to allow 5th wheel towing but still let the entire bed be clear for your cargo when you need it. This puck system takes a purpose-built 5th wheel hitch like the outstanding 20K-rated B&W Companion # BWRVK3300, which drops right in for towing and comes right out when you need full bed access.

If you prefer to use your existing hitch that fits into industry-standard rails (ISRs) then all you need is the Reese Elite Series Underbed Rail Adapter # RP30156. The adapter drops in to the pucks and provides the equivalent of ISRs for your current standard 5th wheel hitch. It will add 2-inches to your hitch height. Your actual rails will not be re-used.
