Using Front Mount Hitch On 1995 Ford Camper Van For Platform Bike Carrier

Question:

hello, I have a very unque question, I have a 95 ford class b camper van that we pull a small trailer with, I also have a hitch installed on the front of my van for putting boat trailers in and out of the water and parking our small utility trailer on sites rather than backing in every where, My question is can I mount one of these hitch mounted carriers to the front hitch on the front of my van? has this been done or am I just slightly crazy ?

You aren't crazy at all. Many people use the front hitch on their vehicle for carrying cargo but there is a bit of caution you need to be aware of.

If you block the airflow to the front of the vehicle it can cause the vehicle to overheat and that would be a real problem. Also, you do not want to install anything that blocks the headlights or turn signals for obvious safety reasons. Plus, you do not want to put anything on the front that would impair the driver's visibility.

The Swagman E-Spec 2-Bike Carrier, part # S94FR will work in a 2-inch receiver opening. This rack can carry 2 bikes with a wheel base up to 48 inches and a tire width maximum of 3 inches.
