It is designed to plug into your existing 7-way harness and will allow you to have a connector at the rear of the truck and in the bed of the truck for a fifth-wheel or gooseneck trailer.
Whenever using connectors it is always a good idea to use Dielectric Grease for Electrical Connectors, item # 11755, to prevent corrosion.
