Installed Curt Wiring Harness, # C55355, And The Left Brake Light Is Constantly On
Question:
Recently installed harness...all lights work, except the L brake light is constantly on. If I have the brown wire hooked to the light, the brake light is always on and the turn signal doesnt work. If I disconnect the brown wire, the turn signal works. Any ideas how to fix this?

Sounds like the wiring on your trailer might not be connected properly. You can use a circuit tester like the, # PTW2993, and test the wire connections on your trailer.
The brown wire is for trailers taillights and should be connected to the vehicle's taillight. The white wire is the ground and you will want to check and make sure that it has a good, clean ground connection or if your trailer lights are grounded by the mounting studs that it is grounded properly. The yellow wire is for the left turn signal and will be connected to the left turn light on the trailer. The green wire is for the right turn signal and will be connected to the right turn light on the trailer.
You will also want to check the converter on your Curt T-Connector Wiring Harness, # C55355, to make sure it is working properly and was not shorted out. I am sending a link to a page on trailer wiring that will also describe how to test to see if the converter box is shorted out.
Let me know if this solves your problem or if we need to investigate further.
