Troubleshooting Brake Controller on 2008 Chevy Silverado that Doesn't Show That Trailer is Connected

Question:

I have a 2008 chevy 2500hd everything works on the controller except the not pluged in to trailer. when pluged in to trailer I have lights, blinkers, but tells me iam not pluged in.

Try cleaning the pins of your trailer connector and trailer with some fine grit sandpaper first. Typically what you described is just a dirty connector that is preventing the circuit from getting completed.

Otherwise it could be that you didn't make all of the correct underhood connections on your truck to activate the circuit. I attached an install video and help article that cover this.
