The Brophy Camper Hold Downs, item # HSSF, should fit on your 1997 Chevrolet 1 ton Dually. Some dually beds interfere with the installation of the hardware. They will definitely work with your 8-1/2 foot slide in camper, if there is room to install them on the bed of your truck..

The hold downs do not fit in the stake pockets, but wrap around the bed rails and are mounted inside the bed. When attached the chains are tightened and pressure is applied from the inside of the bed out and down. The Camper Tie Down Hardware Package, item # TDHP is recommended for use with these camper hold downs. Installation instructions are as follows.

First, place the protective tape under the rest plates and on the T-Bars. Next, thread the T-Bar into the nut at bottom of each hold down.

Then, place the front two hold downs as forward as possible on rail of your truck body, making sure they are forward of the campers front eye bolts. Place the back two hold downs on the rails of the truck slightly forward of, the camper eye bolts. Adjust all the T-Bars until the hold downs are square with the trucks rails. When properly aligned, tighten the lock nuts.

Next, put each locking clamp in place under the rails of the truck and square with the holdown. Install and tighten the included bolts to complete installation.
