Cargo Bag Recommendation for Bare Roof of 2012 Toyota Camry
Question:
Hello, I have a 2012 Toyota Camry and I need something that I could put my extra luggage and few bags on my bare naked roof. I see several options on your website, but dont know what would work for a 6 hour road trip. I dont want to go expensive because I could just simply rent a larger vehicle. We normally fly, but I need something simple, but something that will not fly off as we drive. Lol

The Rightline Gear 15 Cubic foot Roof Cargo Bag you mentioned, part # RL100S20 would be an excellent choice for you. The bag can be attached by running the straps though the vehicle along the ceiling and then out around the carrier. You might also consider the protective pad, part # RL100650. The pad would protect the finish of your roof by preventing the bag from sliding around.
Two issues to be aware of- the straps that come through the passenger cabin and run along the ceiling can interfere with headroom, and can allow water to wick inside during a heavy rain.
Since it sounds like the bag would be used infrequently, this bag would be the perfect choice. If you click the provided link, you can see an FAQ article about roof top cargo storage.
