Can the Hopkins Brake Controller Install in a 1996 Chevy Truck

Question:

Will your Hopkins work with a 1996 Chevy 2500 6.5 turbo diesel? When I look on the website its shows that controller as an option when I look by year make model but the product package dont show my model in the instructions. So if not how do I return this item?

The Hopkins part # HM47294 is going to work just fine on your 1996 Chevy Truck. The fitguide just doesn't go all the way back to 1996 is why your vehicle isn't listed. Brake controller are pretty universal and can hardwire to basically any vehicle.

I attached a help article that details how controllers get hardwired to vehicles from scratch.

I also attached an install video that shows the # ETBC7 install kit being used to install a similar controller in a 1996 truck just like yours.
