Truck beds shorter than 6-feet will require use of a Sidewinder replacement pin box on the trailer since a slider hitch cannot provide enough turning clearance with such short vehicles. In your 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 with 5-1/2-foot bed you can still use that 16K slider hitch # RP30051 (but you must always keep it in the forward locked position at all times) and you'll need to know your current pin box brand and part number to see if a Sidewinder replacement is available for it.
The linked article includes a table that lists the compatible Sidewinders for the most popular pin boxes on the market. These are offered in standard and also air-cushioned versions.
Let's say you have the popular Lippert 1621 pin box. For this we offer Reese part # RP34FR or the cushioned version # RP61422. Both are direct bolt-on replacements (no drilling or welding) that will provide a full 22-inches of additional turning clearance for your short box truck.
If you need a 5th wheel wiring harness use part # 50-97-410. If you need a set of base rails I suggest the custom kit # RP50064-58 from Reese since it will reduce installation time.
