What Size Spare Tire Fits with Curt Hitch 13456 on 2008 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Question:

ok so you say if the spare tire is full size it wont fit underneath with the hitch, the spare on my 2008 range rover sport is 1 inch taller and 3 inches narrower than the other tires on it which are factory size so does that make the spare full size even though its a different size ? is it the width of the tire or the tallness of the tire that keeps it from fitting ? here are the tire sizes on the vehicle. original -255/50/R19 spare-175/80/R19

The two stock tires sizes for your 2008 Land Rover Range Rover Sport are your size 255/50/R19 and size 275/40-20, both of which are about 10-inches wide and 29-inches in diameter.

On many vehicles the spare tire that is not full size will be a little donut type. Since that type of spare would simply not work on an off-road vehicle like yours the 175/80/R19 (30-inches in diameter) is not considered to be a full-size spare due to its narrower width so it will fit with the hitch # 13456. My engineering contact at Curt confirmed for me that this spare size was on the vehicles on which they did their test fits for this hitch.
