Troubleshooting Brake Controller Install for a 2002 Chevy Silverado Where Brakes Lock Up
Question:
I have a 2002 Chevy 1500 truck and I just purchased a new camper that has electric brakes. I have a 7 pin plug now on the truck because I pulled popups and boats. I need to wire the truck so my new brake controller will work and not lock up the brakes like it does now. what parts do I need to wire from the plug to the fuse box up front.

I attached a help article and an install video that shows how a brake controller will install in a truck just like yours. It sounds like someone may have tried to connect the wiring under the dash already but may have ran the brake output circuit to the 12 volt accessory circuit instead and that is why your brakes are locking up.
