Brake Controller Recommendation and Install Harness for a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500

Question:

I am looking for a brake controller connector to fit a pre-wired 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 which I purchased used. What I have on my truck is a blue connector with six female ports, five of which are wired with flat ends to receive a flat pin. The connector has two parts. The left side is square and has four flat ports, two on top and two on bottom. The top left port is empty. The right side has two flat ports one on top of the other. Without being able to send you a picture of it, can you determine what type of connector I need? Thank you,

The correct brake controller install harness for your 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 is the part # 3020-P. It will allow a Tekonsha P2 brake controller like the part # 90885 install easily. I attached a picture that shows it connected to the blue connector you mentioned plus an install video that shows it installing in a similar Dodge Ram.

For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes.
