Replacement Trailer Vent Lids and Complete Vent Assemblies for 1976 Kit Companion Travel Trailer
Question:
Hi, I have an old 1976 Kit Companion Travel Trailer. It has 2 roof vents on top. I believe they are 14inch measured from the inside. I have one that the dome has completely cracked off and needs to be replaced. I have a few questions regarding the replacement. Are replacement vents universal like Ventline V2092SP-28? The current vents are manual with no fan. If I decide to add fans, can these be added after the fact? Do both units need fans, or can they be installed to just one unit? Thanks.

We offer replacement lids and also complete vent assemblies for the 14 x 14-inch roof vents in your vintage 1976 Kit Companion Travel Trailer. The linked page will let you see all lids and as well as all complete roof vent unit, manual and fan-powered. The click on either Replacement Lid or Vent Assembly at the top of the page.
Lids come in there basic hinge designs, which is what you'll want to match up if you just want to the lid. Hinge styles are 3-point, 4-point and continuous. Compare you hinge style to select the appropriate lid type and just click on it.
If you want to replace the entire vent with a fan-powered unit the click on the Vent Assembly category. We offer both manual vents and vents with fans; click on your preference. You'll need an installation kit if you choose a whole new vent. Use kit # 344270KITW for a metal or coated metal roof.
It is possible to retro-fit a fan to a vent but it is less costly and much easier to just install a powered fan. In a 2-vent trailer one powered fan unit would likely be just fine.
