Recommend a Fifth Wheel Rail Kit and 7 Pin Hookup and Controller For My 2005 Dodge 3500 Truck
Question:
I cant find just a rail Kit on here. I have two of the 5th wheel units that set in the rails. But I just bought a 05 Dodge 3500 that I need to install one of them in. Can you give me the part number and price. I need a price on a 7 pin hookup ,and controler. They took the one that was in the truck out. It was on the back bumper. I am a little old and slow. Thanks. I need the inside cab unit also. Thanks again

Yes, we have a few options for Fifth Wheel Rail Kit for your 2005 Dodge 3500. The Reese Fifth Wheel Installation Kit, part # RP50140-58, is a custom fifth wheel rail kit for Dodge Ram pickup trucks that will work great with your 2005 Dodge Ram 3500. This kit is designed to work with your vehicle and will minimize the amount of drilling you will need to do when installing.
The other option you could go with is a universal Fifth Wheel Rail Kit, the Reese Fifth Wheel Installation Kit, part RP30035-186, that you can use on your 2005 Dodge 3500. This kit will require more drilling and will take quite a bit longer to install though.
I would recommend going with part # RP50140-58, as it is designed to work with your 2005 Dodge 3500 and it will cut your install time down tremendously.
I have linked instructions for both the custom installation kit part # RP50140-58, and the universal kit, part # RP30035-186 below.
For a Brake Controller, the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Proportional Brake Controller # 90885 to use with Dodge Adapter, part #3020-P, will work with your 2005 Dodge 3500.
For the wiring on your 2003 Dodge 3500, the 7-Way & 4-Way Replacement Connector for Dodge OEM Style Plugs, part # 42145, will connect along the driver side frame rail, and at the back near the spare tire.
To run wiring from the 7-way connector to your fifth wheel in the truck bed, you will need the 5th Wheel and Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness with 7-Pole Connector for Dodge, part # HM42137. This will install inline with part # 42145, to your fifth wheel hitch.
All of these parts will be needed to install your fifth wheel hitch, connect your trailer wires to the vehicle, and install a brake controller.
