Programmer Recommendation for a 2012 Chevy Silverado Duramax with Keeping DEF
Question:
Can I use the f5 to def

Expert Reply:
The SuperChips F5 Programmer part # SU2845 that you referenced is confirmed as a fit for your 2012 Chevy Silverado with a Duramax Diesel but it will not allow you to compensate for the removal of the DEF or any other emissions components. Nothing we offer will allow for the removal of that or any other emissions related components.
If the truck was going to be only used for off-road purposes there are custom tuning companies who could help you out. But we do not offer anything.
This programmer would still give you 81 horsepower and 170 ft lbs of torque though so if this truck is going to be used on public roads it would be a great choice.
