Highest Capacity 175/80-13 Radial Tires for Boat Trailer

Question:

I have a 2015 Loadrite trailer 19220096ss with 2700GVW axel and ST175/80D13 tires. Loadrite is going to be replacing my axel with a 3500 GVW axel and I think Im going to need 2 new tires capable of carrying closer to the 3500 GVW range. Would the ST175/80R13 RADIALS give me the extra weight capacity Im looking for? FYI my boat, motor, fuel and gear weight 2300 pounds approx. Also, if I only purchased the tires will they be able to be mounted on my existing galvanized wheels.

The highest rated 175/80-13 tire we offer is the Kenda # AM10210. This is a Load Range D tire with a 1610lb/tire weight capacity which would give you a 3220 lb capacity. If your current wheel is 4-1/2, 5 or 5-1/2 inches wide, the tire would mount on your existing wheel just fine.

If your hubs have a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern, we also offer that particular tire mounted on a galvanized wheel as part # AM31994.

Keep in mind that your trailer's capacity will be limited to the capacity of its lowest rated component.
