Wider Tires for Utility Trailer Used on Sandy Beaches

Seek wider tires for carry-on 4x8 utility trailer. Oem tires are 4.8-12 load c 5 lug.

If you want to keep the same wheels you already have then the widest tire size you can go with is a 145/80-12 # AM10130 which will be approximately 5.7 inches wide. This tire will also be about 0.8 inches taller so you need to make sure that there is enough room all around the existing tires for the wider and taller tire size.

If you wanted to go wider than that you would need to replace the wheels as well as the tires. And there will be a limit to how wide you can go because eventually a tire will be too wide and will make contact with the frame of the trailer. If you know how much space is between the inner sidewall and the trailer frame now then that will help me to determine how wide you can go.
