7-Way and Brake Controller Recommendation for a 1990 Chevy Blazer
Question:
I have a 1990 full size Chevy Blazer. i am looking at part #s HM40975-11998 and 90885. Is this a good combination for towing a 20-24foot trailer? I have been working on this truck for quita a while and now is the time to do the major wiring because it is largely apart: I.E. the gas tank is out as well as the interior so it is easy to access all aspects of the wiring I do not believe that a harness is available, so should I plan on tracing everything down to get this combination wired? Thank you,

I have an easier solution installing trailer wiring and then a brake controller in your 1990 Chevy Blazer.
You will need to start with a 4-way (if you do not have one). For that you would want the # C55312.
From there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup.
