Would Weight Distribution for 500 lbs Tongue Weight Be Needed with a 2011 Chevy Silverado 3500
Question:
I have an E2 Round Bar hitch that was sold to me with my trailer. It was installed on my 1996 Tahoe. Worked great! I have replaced the Tahoe with a 2011 Chev Silverado 3500. Do I still need to use the equalizing hitch?

I wouldn't think so. Your 2011 Chevy Silverado 3500 is going to have towing capacities that will greatly exceed the 1996 Tahoe so it should work just fine without the WD system. A good rule of thumb for whether or not a WD system is needed is if the weight of the trailer is more than 50 percent of the total trailer towing capacity then you will need it.
For a trailer where the # FA94-00-0600 was used the Silverado 3500 would probably hardly notice it behind the vehicle. This system is ideal for tongue weights of around 500 lbs. Your Silverado would have not problem at all with that tongue weight.
