Why Does T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness Need to Be Connected to Both Taillights on 2002 Mazda Tribute

Hi if i only need the tail and brake lights on my trailer dont i only need to connect wiring to one of the tail lights of the car? the brake lights on the trailer are on one system of wires

You will want to connect the Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118343 to both taillight assemblies on your 2002 Mazda Tribute. The wiring harness needs signal from both taillights so the trailer's turn signals will function properly.
The 4-Pole connector provided by the 118343 harness will provide taillight, right turn/stop, and left turn/stop functions for your trailer.
