Difference between the Roadmaster Falcon and Sterling All Terrain Tow Bar for 2002 Honda CRV

Question:

I have a 2002 Honda CRV with what is called a grill trim piece which looks like a brushguard and I was wondering which base plate to order the MX or LX and what is the difference between them? Additionally, I am also wondering which towbar would be better for this application the RM-576 or the RM-522 and if I order the 576 does that still require a separate wiring purchase for the towed vehicle? Thanks for your assistance.

For your 2002 Honda CRV with brush guard I would recommend XL Plate Roadmaster Base Plate, part # 1541-3. The MX base plate, part # 1541-5 is designed for heavier vehicles and does not require a crossbar, but a crossbar is required on the XL base plate, part # 1541-3.

For a tow bar with this application, I would recommend part # RM-576, for your 2002 Honda CRV. Part # RM-576 has a capacity of 6,000 pounds, and is compatible with the XL Base Plate, part # 1541-3.

Part # RM-576 already has wiring installed and it weighs almost half of what part # RM-522 weighs. I would recommend the Roadmaster Sterling All Terrain Tow Bar, part # RM- 576, because it already has wiring, is lighter and includes the safety cables.

Also for wiring of the Vehicle that will pull your 2002 Honda CRV, I would recommend the Roadmaster Sterling All Terrain Towing Combo Kit, part # RM-9284-2.
