Converting Separate Tail Light Circuits to Combined to Use an LED Light Bar with Brake, Turn, Tail
Question:
I bought a 6 function led light bar and was trying to hard wire it to my pick up truck... The light bar has running lights brake lights left/right scanning amber turn signals and reverse lights.. My question is with only the 4 wires on the light bar running lights left turn/stop right turn/stop and ground how can i seperate my brake lights from turn signals because when i hit my brakes the scanning amber 4 ways come on instead of the brake light

You will need a converter to combine the brake and turn signal circuits from the truck so that the light bar you have functions like normal. For a basic one you can use # HM48925. You can then cut off the 4-Way end of this harness after it is installed and attach the wires to the light bar wires.
On the HM48925 the white wire is ground, brown is running lights, yellow is left turn and brake lights and green is right turn and brake lights. The HM48925 will not have a reverse light function so if you need to tap into a reverse light circuit you can still do that right at a reverse light wire on the vehicle.
Use a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 to determine the functions of the wires on the vehicle. The red wire on the input side is for brake lights, green is right turn only, yellow is left turn only, brown is running lights and white is ground.
