Weight Distribution Recommended for Heartland Prowler Lynx 25 LX  

Question:

I have a 2016 Heartland Prowler Lynx 25 LX with GVWR 6900 lbs, Dry Weight 4814 lbs, Hitch Weight 528 lbs, Carry Capacity 1,936 lbs. Connecting to a 2015 F-150 v8. When I purchased the Prowler I was advised that I would not require a Weight Distribution to pull, when connected to my truck I do see a dip and when pulling there is a slight sway when I reach 65 mph. What would be the best product for me?

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

Your dry tongue weight is 528 lbs. Your loaded tongue weight could easily be around 750 lbs so for a system that would work well with this that features sway control that works to prevent sway before it starts you would want the Reese Straitline part # RP66084 which has a tongue weight of 600-1,200 lbs.

For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.

This will fix the sway and the rear suspension sag too.
