Weight Distribution System Recommendation for V-Nose Trailer with 1,500 lbs Tongue Weight

Question:

I am looking for 2 wt. Distribution and sway control hitchs for 28 foot vnose pace cargo tralers 10000 lbs loaded. 650 lb tongue wt when empty and up to 1,500 lb tw when loaded. Trailer has over slung hitch with 19.inches to top of hitch ball . And 13 inch cearance from bottom of frame to ground. I possibly can modify floor in vnose to install hanging brackets. I need a hitch that allows backing up. Towing with Ram 2500 with 2 inch receiver. I need a well built unit that will run about 25000 miles per year. Please recommend as soon as possible. Thanks

Since you have a V-nose trailer you will need to go with bolt-on style frame brackets that will allow you to attach to the trailer frame without needing clearance above the frame channel.

Since your tongue weight is up to 1,500 lbs when loaded you will need to go with a higher rated system. The Strait-Line # RP66075 has a sway control unit that works to fight sway before it starts and has a tongue weight range of 1,000 lbs - 1,700 lbs. For bolt on brackets for your trailer you would need the part # RP58305.

For a shank you will need to check out the link I attached that has all of the shanks we carry that are properly rated. You will then need to select the rise/drop you need. I also attached a help article on how to determine what rise/drop is needed.

For a hitch ball you would then want the part # 63840.
