Brake Controller and Install Harness Recommendation for a 2004 Ford E450 Chassis RV
Question:
I am looking to buy my first brake controller and I am confused. I have a 2005 Coachman Freedom 314SO which is built on a 2004 Ford E450 chassis. I have a 7 pin connector in the back and I want to pull a single axle car dolly Master Tow 80THD. the search results really confused me. I am also interested in understanding how complicated the installation will be. I am a DIY guy, but always cautious with electric on the vehicle.

I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller, part # 90885, along with the plug-in Wiring Adapter, part # 3035-P. The install will be very easy actually. If you check out the help article I attached you will see that there is a port under the dash of the van that will allow the controller to easily install.
I also attached an install video for you to check out as well.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885 because this is our best selling brake controller due to how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes.
