I'm not certain which adapter you used, but the # RM-031 adapter would install at the end of the tow bar arms and allow you to attach to the Blue Ox base plate on your Jeep Cherokee.
To complete your towing system, you'll need safety cables like # RM-643, a wiring harness like part # RM-154, a wiring umbilical like part # RM-164-7 and a supplemental braking system like the Blue Ox Patriot 3 # BLU37TR. The Patriot 3 is a portable unit that will take only moments to install and remove.
When the tow bar is installed, you'll want the tow bar to be within 3 inches of level. The base plates will be 19 inches off the ground when installed, so depending on your hitch height you might need a high-low adapter. You'll need to determine the height difference between the hitch on your RV and 19 inches and then choose the proper high-low adapter to place the tow bar within 3 inches of level. I'll link you to our selection of high-low adapters. I've also linked to some helpful FAQ articles, product installation instructions and installation videos, which I hope you'll find helpful.
