Backup Camera with No-Splice Installation in 2014 Ram 1500

Question:

I am trying to wire a back up camera and dont want to splice the wiring. There are several kits that would T the connection...I need both +12, ground, and back up lights for the camera...I am not sure which kit to buy. Also on the other end of the truck I know there is a place to pull wires through the cab...Thanks.

A backup camera system like the Hopkins Smart Hitch # HM50002 does use a T-connector at your truck's existing 7-way trailer socket to connect to its 12V, ground and reverse circuit wiring that operate the camera. When you shift the vehicle into reverse that lighting circuit activates the camera and monitor automatically.

If you needed to access the +12V circuit in order to wire in an additional backup light such as # BUL002CB, you could simply tap into the +12V wire on the T-connector using a quick splice fastener # SWC501915-1.
