5th Wheel Installation Kit for 2015 Ford F-250 Long Bed and Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch
Question:
Hello! I recently purchased a fifth wheel hitch from etrailer for a 2011 Chevy Silverado with a 6 1/2ft bed. We went with the Reese 30051 and the custom rails. Since then, we have purchased a different truck, a 2015 Ford F-250 with an 8 ft. Bed. Can you recommend how we proceed? Can we use the previous hitch we bought and just buy new rails? Were very inexperienced! Thank you!

I will be happy to help. You already have most of the parts you will need to install the Reese slider hitch # RP30051 in your 2015 Ford F-250 long bed. You can reuse the rails but will need new under bed brackets and hardware unless you don't have the old rails. If you don't have the old rails you would need a whole kit.
If you still have your rails then for the brackets I recommend # RP50026 which are the custom fit brackets which means you won't have to drill into the frame of your new truck for installation. The brackets come with the hardware to install them.
Then, all you will need is the hardware to attach the rails you already have to the new brackets, # RP58504. New hardware is needed because it is meant to only be torqued down once so you can't reuse the hardware you have.
If you don't have the old rails then you would need the whole kit, # RP50026-58, instead of the parts listed above.
