Manually Cranking Landing Gear if Battery is Dead

Is there a way to disengage the gearing so that you can manually crank the jack in the event of a dead battery?

According to my Bulldog representative, there is no need to disengage anything in order to manually crank the jack using a handle like part # BD800090.
