5th Wheel Trailer Hitch and Universal Install Kit for a 2006 Ford F-350 Short Bed
Question:
Will this work in a 06 f350 short bed?

Curt 5th wheel trailer hitch with universal installation kit # C16116 will fit your 2006 Ford F-350 but since you have a short bed you will need the slider version in order to have clearance to make tight turns. The slider version is # C16616. I have linked a video review of this system for you.
The lowest cost option that includes a slider and installation kit is # PS30129 which is similar but offers 10 inches of travel instead of 12 inches of travel like the Curt hitch. With a slider hitch the amount of travel is important; you will want the most that you can get for turning clearance. The Pro Series hitch is rated for 15K whereas the Curt offering is rated for 16K.
