Trailer Hitch and Cargo Carrier to Hold Honda EU3000is Generator on Back of Jayco Travel Trailer

Hi, I have a 2008 Jayco Jay feather. I also have a Honda EU3000is. I want to bring my generator along when traveling. The generator is too heavy for me to lift alone. Can you suggest something for me to mount the generator on I cant find the weight capacity for the back bumper in the manual. The generator weighs 130 lbs.

Since generators are so heavy I do not recommend mounting it on the rear bumper of your Jayco travel trailer. What I recommend is to install a frame mounted hitch at the back of the trailer which will be a stronger and safer connection point. We have several hitches that could work and I have provided a link to them for you.

If the frame spacing is 18 to 51 inches then I recommend hitch # C13702. If the frame spacing is 47 to 77 inches I recommend # UF35-946403. Both hitches have a tongue weight capacity that can easily handle the 130 pound generator. It looks like you can get a wheel kit for that generator too so that would make loading the generator on a cargo carrier easier.
