Can Andersen Ultimate Adapter Work With 2015 Nissan Titan With 5-1/2 Ft Bed
Question:
I have a 2015 Nissan Titan short bed. I have just purchased a 5th wheel and the dealer is suggesting installation of the Anderson Ultimate Connection hitch for the 5th wheel. Is this a good option for a shortbed truck if properly installed. My concern is turn radius.

It is not recommended to use the Andersen Ultimate adapter like part # AM3200 on truck beds shorter than 6-ft so I cannot recommend it for your 2015 Titan. If you have a gooseneck hitch in your truck, and if you did use it, you would have major issues with turns.
The best option for you is to remove the gooseneck hitch and install a stationary fifth wheel hitch, and then swap out the pin box on your trailer with a Sidewinder.
The fifth wheel hitch I recommend for your Titan is the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch, part # RP30047. This is a 16,000-lb hitch and it has dual-jaws that help reduce chucking and jarring because they have better hitch jaw to king pin contact.
The installation kit I recommend is part # RP30035-405. This is a semi-custom installation kit and it includes the base rails and all the necessary hardware.
Another option would be to remove the gooseneck hitch and install the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch, part # DM8550040. This hitch provides 22-1/2 inches of travel front to back when installed, and has a gross towing weight limit of 13,000 lbs. You can still use the bed rail installation kit # RP30035-405.
There should be a sticker or plate on your pin box with the model and make. You can check out the attached link to our product page and use that number to find the right Sidewinder that would work for you. I have also attached links to a some helpful articles you can check out.
