New 5-Way Trailer Side Connector for a Boat Trailer
Question:
I have a boat trailer with surge brakes I need a new 5flat end. The one I have now said it is taylor and it has 7 wires coming out of it 2 red 1 white 1 green 1 brown 1 yellow 1yellow / brown. My trailer is equipped with a lock out solenoid for when you are in reverse. Do you have a 5 flat that will work for this. This is on the trailer

Your trailer has a type of wishbone harness with separate wires that share the running light circuit. For a replacement I recommend # A25W5B. The one covered pin is the ground, next to it is the running light pin. There are 2 wires associated with this pin. One goes to the trailer left side running lights the other goes to the trailer right side running lights.
The next two pins are left turn/brake lights and right turn/brake lights. And the last pin and wire go to the electric reverse lockout on the coupler.
Since the wire colors you have on the trailer do not match the common wire colors/functions you will need to determine what those functions are before you can splice in the new connector. You can either trace each wire back on the trailer to see where it ends or you could apply 12 volt power to each wire individually using a 12 volt battery to see what lights up.
