Different versions of a given vehicle can have varying towing capacities based on their engine, transmission and suspension packages, so it is best to check your own VW owner's manual to see what the car's rated towing capacity is. I reviewed online resources that indicate some versions can tow as much as 7700-lbs. A check of your manual is in order. Since your car can be fitted with a 2-inch Class III hitch chances are good that it will have a pretty good rated towing capacity.
The hitch I recommend is the Curt Class III # 13220 because this is the only no-drilling option. I also linked a video showing installation of this hitch on your same car. You'll also need a wiring harness for the trailer lights; you can use Tow Ready # 118509. I included a video for this part too.
You will also need a ball mount and hitch ball. Choose a ball size that matches the coupler on the trailer and choose a ball mount that will allow the hitched trailer to remain level. The linked article will help you choose a suitable Class III ball mount.
