Recommended Tire Chains For 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe With 245/55R19 Tires
Question:
I have a new 2015 Hyundai. the tire size is 245/55R19 looking at your specs they only go up to 18. I need chains for my front wheel drive Santa Fe. I will be moving to Reno nv by the end of the year however I now go up once a month. So I not only need it to fit, it needs to be durable. Thanks for you help.

When comparing the size of your 245/55/R19 tires to 235/55-19 tires for your Santa Fe, your tires will be almost 1/2 inch wider. Since the owner's manual for your Santa Fe states Class S tire chains must be used, it may pose a clearance problem for tire chains. A Class S tire chain will need to have 37mm or less clearance above the chain and 15mm or less clearance out from the sidewall. In the manual it states wire tire chains should be used with a maximum diameter of 15 mm.
The tire chains I recommend for you are the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains, part # PW2029C. These are a Class S tire chain, and if you have at least 15mm or more clearance on the inside of the tire, these will work great for you. These are made of low-carbon spring rollers wrapped around a sturdy cross cable.
I also recommend tensioners to keep the chains secure on the vehicle. I recommend part # TCMA2 because these have individual arms. If one would fail the others will hold the tire chains secure.
