Is Custom Fit Wedge Needed for Reese Revolution Pin Box with Reese OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for 2015 Ram

new 5th wheel comes with reese revolution pin box and universal wedge. i am going to use a reese 5th wheel hitch 30918. will the universal wedge work or do i need i custom wedge and if so what is the part number thanks

The universal wedge that comes with your Reese Revolution pin box will work for you to tow your trailer with the Reese OEM 5th Wheel Hitch # RP30918 that you referenced. If you'd like to upgrade from the universal wedge, a custom wedge is available for your pin box and hitch, wedge # RP44FR.
The universal wedge is great if you plan on towing the trailer with different vehicles that have different 5th wheel hitches. When versatility is needed, the universal wedge is the best option.
If you plan on consistently towing your trailer with the same tow vehicle and the # RP30918 hitch, a custom wedge is a great upgrade for the components to best fit together. Since they will fit together better, I recommend going with the custom wedge. The # RP44FR custom wedge is designed to fit the funnel of the Reese hitch better than the universal wedge. I confirmed that this is the correct wedge for the # RP30918 hitch with my contact at Reese.
