Lug Nut Attachment Spacer to Use for K-Summit Tire Chains on a 2016 Volkswagen GTI
Question:
I have a 2016 VW GTI and have bought K23 K summit chains. I put them on with the default lug nut spacer and boltit seemed to stick out away from the wheel quite a bit. I tried the small red spacer and smaller bolt. Everything seemed to clear OK and the ratchet mechanism was closer to the wheel. What is the criteria for choosing the bolt spacer combination. Is it the smallest that clears the rim? picture is with default set up..

Expert Reply:
Based on your pictures the default set up is too far from the vehicle wheel. It needs to be fairly close, just not touching the wheel, so that would appear to be either the small spacer or no spacer at all.
