Would the CIPA Universal Towing Mirror # CM11980 Fit a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
Will these fit a 2015 jeep Cherokee? The mirrors I have now are hard to get on and off and dont extend far enough. The mirror only extends approx. 6 inches past the jeep mirror and I cant see arounf the trailer.

As long as there is a gap between the mirror housing and the mirror itself, the Cipa # CM11980 will fit the factory mirror on your 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It should not interfere with the operation of the mirror.
The part of the CIPA universal towing mirror # CM11980 that fits into the gap between the glass and the mirror housing is a wedge shape. So a gap of at least 1/16 of an inch could work but 1/8 inch gap or larger would provide a better grip. I measured the thin wedge part that fits in the gap and at its smallest it is 0.05 inches thick, so less than 1/16 of an inch. And at its widest it is 0.13 inches, just over 1/8 inch.
You might consider the K-Source # KS3891 universal Towing Mirror. The mirror features ratcheting straps for a tight, nearly vibration free fit that won't inhibit minor mirror adjustments. As you can see from the reviews, this mirror is rated highly by our customers. I've linked you to a demonstration video showing the mirror installed on a 2014 Grand Cherokee.
Cipa doesn't provide individual vehicle fit information, as the mirror is considered a universal application.
