Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Sahara MOAB

Question:

I am trying to find a bolt on hitch for my wifes Jeep MOAB. Looking at the hitch installation instructions, other Jeeps, and ours it appears that any of them, specifically the Draw-Tite one will fit. Can you confirm or let me know if this is not correct? I also noticed the rugged ridge hitch with two 1 1/2 inch receiver tubes on either side of the 2 inch tube and like it. Do you sell one like it? Thanks.

Yes, you can install the Draw-Tite trailer hitch # DT78MR on your 2013 Jeep Wrangler Sahara MOAB as long as it has the same rear bumper as the regular models or Mopar Off Road Bumper 82213654.

We do have a bumper that has a built in hitch similar to what you are describing. That is the Bestop HighRock bumper # B4491101.

If you plan on doing some towing I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.

If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, use the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.

And to add a 4-Way trailer wiring harness at the back I recommend # 118416. I have linked a video showing an installation of the wiring as well.
