Trailer Wiring Installation on a 2012 Mazda MX-5 Miata
Question:
In the #56082 instructions: Step 2 says to start at the passenger side tail light then step 3 says run the wire over to the passenger side and repeat step 2. Should the instructions say to start on the passenger side and then run the wire over to the drivers side and repeat step 2? In other words, what side should I start on?

It technically doesn't matter which side you start on though usually you start installation on the side with the shorter wires because that is the side the converter will mount on. In this case that would be the right (passenger's) side of the vehicle.
You are correct, step 3 in the instructions for wiring harness # 56082, linked for reference, should say to route the connectors with the yellow wires to the drivers side and repeat the process. The issue is that almost every other wiring harness is designed with a short yellow side and a long green side that would get routed to the passenger's side. This one is the opposite and they just didn't catch that error.
