Parts Needed to Install a 7-Way and Brake Controller in a 2012 Nissan Xterra

Question:

I need a brake controller and 7 pin plug to haul my pop up w electric brakes. I installed a receiver but need everything else. Non factory tow package so not sure exactly what is needed. Thanks!

You will need to start with a 7-way for your 2012 Xterra. For that you would want the part # 118266 which has been confirmed as a fit.

This will give you a 7-way that will allow you to install a brake controller.

For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup.

To install the brake controller all you need is the correct install harness # 3050-P. This will plug into a port under your dash and the controller will be ready to use. The harness is located underneath the dash, to the left of the steering column, taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal.
