Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2016 Subaru Forester
Question:
Curt trailer hitch for 2016 Subaru forreste does not have a weight distribution rating, but the Draw-Tite does. What is the significance of the weight distribution rating? I would use the hitch for a bike rack and a very seldom tow of a boat.

For what you are looking to do it doesn't matter whether or not the hitch for your 2016 Subaru Forester is rated for weight distribution or not. However, I would still recommend the Draw-Tite part # 75876 over the Curt for your vehicle since it would not require the use of a stabilizer strap when carrying a bike rack.
Weight distribution is a system that is designed to help redistribute the tongue weight of a trailer up to the front axle of the vehicle. For more information on them check out the help article I attached.
For trailer wiring for your vehicle you would want the part # 118467.
Since you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not include a ball mount with the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, check out the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.
