Trailer Hitch and Wiring for Anniversary Editions of the 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Question:
Im a bit confused by some of the previous QandA. Responses indicate Curt Trailer Hitches # 9883544 and # 13432 are the exact same product just different part numbers due to special volume/pricing. Several QandA responses indicate #98853544 will not fit anniversary edition rear bumpers BUT Curt install instructions for part #13432 indicate it DOES fit anniversary editions: So any clarity? Will it fit or not?? Thanks

Curt trailer hitch # 13432 will also fit Rubicon X and 10th Anniversary models of the 2007 to 2016 Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited. There are some other models, like the Call of Duty Edition that the hitch is not designed to fit.
If you want to use the hitch for carrying a bike rack or cargo carrier and not just towing then I recommend the Draw-Tite hitch # DT78MR because the receiver will stick out further which is beneficial for clearing the rear mounted spare tire.
For either hitch, if you plan on doing some towing I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, use the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.
And if your Jeep does not already have a trailer connector, I recommend # 118416 to add a 4-Way flat to the rear of the vehicle. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you.
