How to Transport 2 Kayaks on 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Hardtop

I have a 2016 wrangler unlimited. It has the hard top with removable front panels. I am looking for a roof rack system capable of handling two kayaks any help with this is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Jeep's online manual for the 2016 Wrangler Unlimited indicates that the hard top is not designed to carry any additional loads such as roof racks, spare tires, building, hunting, or camping supplies, or luggage, etc. Kayaks fall into this list of exclusions as well.

The best recommendation I can make for you is to install both rear- and front-mount hitch receivers and to use load supports to hold the kayaks. We offer a rear-mount 2-inch hitch # 13432 and a front-mount hitch # 31432 that fits Wranglers with the standard factory front bumper.

With these two 2-inch hitches installed you can use two load supports like the Erickson # EM07605.
Your kayaks will need to be long enough to span the distance between the two posts and you'll need to use some cargo tie downs like # EM34420 to secure the kayaks to the load supports.
