Hitch Extender Recommendation for Jeep Wrangler to Allow Install of Bike Rack to Clear Spare

Question:

I just received a new Yakima 4-Bike Rack for my 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Of course the hitch is not long enough, so I am in need of an extender. We plan on taking a trip from Florida to North Carolina with 4 bikes, so I need an anti-rattle and lock for the extender. What do you suggest for both the extender 2 and anti-rattle device? Thanks

For an 8 inch long hitch extender that should work perfectly for your 2014 Jeep Wrangler to allow your Yakima bike rack to install you would want the Curt part # C45791. I attached a review video that shows this product being installed on a similar Wrangler as yours too.

For an anti-rattle lock for the extender you would also want the part # 63232.

You should note that the use of a hitch extender cuts the capacity of the hitch in half due to the added leverage so you will need to keep that in mind.
